On 27 February 2026, the Right Energy Partnership with Indigenous Peoples, in collaboration with UN Women, UNEP, and the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Southeast Asia Regional Office, co-organized a panel highlighting Indigenous-led renewable initiatives across Asia. The side event, "From Voices to Action: Indigenous Leadership in Achieving Affordable and Clean Energy," was one of the side events of the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event brought together Indigenous youth leaders and regional experts to advance the conversation on just and inclusive energy transitions. It discussed challenges and highlighted Indigenous Peoples’ initiatives and innovations, with a particular focus on the role of Indigenous women and youth in advancing SDG 7 and ensuring a just energy transition. It aimed to amplify Indigenous peoples’ voices in regional energy transition dialogues, support evidence-based policymaking, and generate support for community-based renewable energy initiatives.
