Impacts of Tourism Expansion on Social and Environmental Degradation in Yogyakarta Article The Special Region of Yogyakarta has a fairly diverse regional character, divided into volcanic areas, urban, coastal, karst and incised with cluster of hills reaching to Central Java Province. The diversity of this region became the basis of government policy of the Special Region of Yogyakarta which places tourism as one of the regional development missions in the last ten years.
