Tricia Yeoh is CEO of IDEAS (Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs), an independent public policy think tank in Malaysia, where she has previously held positions of Chief Operating Officer (2013-2017) and Fellow (2017-2020). 

She is also a PhD candidate at the School of Politics, History and International Relations at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, examining federal-state relations and opposition subnational durability within dominant party authoritarian regimes. Specifically, her thesis covers the Pakatan coalition’s control over Selangor and Penang from 2008 to 2018 under the single-party dominant federal regime of Barisan Nasional. 

She writes on national socio-economic policy and has delivered various presentations at national and international platforms. She is qualified in Econometrics and Marketing from Monash University, and holds a MSc. in Research Methods in Psychology from the University of Warwick.
