Phuong Phan is an art historian, independent researcher and curator based in Hanoi and Berlin. She is interested in the history and formation of Southeast Asia as well as the conflicts sparkled by the War in Vietnam. In her curatorial and research works, Phuong aims to explore how artists respond to socio-political and cultural transformation in this region.

Since 2021, Phuong has been working on her doctoral project that investigates the social life of socialist propaganda posters in Vietnam. She holds MA in Art History in a global context from Free University Berlin, and  is undertaking her PhD dissertation at Graduate School in History and Sociology at Bielefed University. Her dissertation is funded by the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation.
