Phong A Huynh
Rural Development and Shared Governance Expert

Phong A Huynh is a rural development and shared governance expert working for an international Non-Government Organization since 2012 in various capacities in Lao PDR. His roles have included SE Asia Geographical Focal Point for a Commons-based and shared governance program, team leader  and project manager for various projects with heavy focus on supporting communities’ shared governance mechanisms in different thematic areas (agriculture, forestry, wetland and watershed) and contexts (urban, peri-urban and rural). 

His experience in implementing, developing and adapting shared governance tools originate back to 2012 in facilitating the development of bamboo value chains in northern Lao PDR. His involvement in shared governance has also led to supporting Lao Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to become facilitators of communities’ active participation in the shared governance of their resources, by adapting and expanding the tested shared governance practices throughout Lao PDR. Phong Huynh is a Vietnamese-American based in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
