Marta da Silva (Abata) is a Researcher at La’o Hamutuk, responsible for of good governance and human rights, the economy, and the state finance. She participated in various activities at regional and international levels such as the Open Budget Survey (OBS), Amnesty International, Public What You Pay (PWYP), Oil Watch, International Development Inclusive (IDI), and Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP). Marta has long career in Civil Society and UN, where previously she worked with, The Asia Foundation, Timor-Leste Ombudsman and Human Rights, OXFAM, HAFOTI Women's Organization, among others. She completed her Undergraduate Degree in Social and Political Science at the National University of Timor-Leste.
