Kyungmee Kim is a Researcher at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) Climate Change and Risk Programme, where she focuses on climate change and conflict, and environmental peacebuilding. She holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Research from Uppsala University after completing her dissertation, titled ‘Civil Resistance in the Shadow of War: Explaining Popular Mobilization against Dams in Myanmar’. She is a member of the Research School for International Water Cooperation at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, which is part of the UNESCO Center for Water Cooperation. Prior to her doctoral research, Dr Kim worked on transboundary water cooperation and civil society empowerment at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
