Jiraporn Laocharoenwong holds Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from the Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR), University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her PhD research is on spatial formation of long-term refugee camp along Thailand-Burma borderland, and how camp inhabitants perceive and dwell in this space.



Her academic interests covers Geography of migration, refugee studies and displacement, Borderland studies, Anthropology of Place and Space.



She is the co-producer of a documentary film entitled ‘Capital of Mae La’, in another name ‘Space of Refuge’ together with Nuankhanit Phromchanya.
