To supervise and manage the financial and administrative operations of our Southeast Asia Regional Office, we are looking for an experienced Finance and Administrative Coordinator. The position combines financial management, administration, compliance, supervision, and organizational development. Key responsibilities include:

Financial Management & Compliance

  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, accounting, controlling, and reporting for the office, programmes, and projects, ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and local legislation and regulations in Thailand
  • Oversee financial resources and statutory obligations, including bank accounts, cash and non-cash assets, tax, social security and provident fund, and coordinate local and external annual audits.

Administration & Operations

  • Oversee the office’s administrative operations, including procurement, travel, contracts, vendors, and related procedures, ensuring efficient workflows and appropriate internal controls.
  • Advise and support the Office Director, programme staff, and cooperation partners in applying financial and administrative rules and procedures.

Team Coordination

  • Supervise and support staff in the Finance and Administration section and contribute to effective teamwork and professional development.

Process Improvement & Digital Transformation

  • Lead the continuous improvement and digital transformation of financial and administrative processes, including paperless workflows, electronic signatures and approvals, digital document management, and appropriate process automation.
  • Develop and maintain effective SOPs and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen compliance, and improve organizational efficiency and performance.

Requirements

  • Thai nationality.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in financial management, accounting, controlling, auditing, or related fields, preferably with substantial experience in the non-profit sector.
  • University degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working internationally or in an international organization.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting, budgeting, compliance, and internal control processes. Experience with NAVISION and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
  • Excellent spoken and written Thai and English; knowledge of other Southeast Asian languages is an asset.
  • Intercultural sensitivity and competence, and willingness to work in a diverse team and with partner organizations and individuals across Southeast Asia.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, learn and adapt, and develop practical solutions beyond routine administrative tasks.
  • Experience with digital financial and administrative systems and an interest in using technology to improve organizational workflows are highly desirable.
  • Interest in Southeast Asia and identification with the values of hbs, including social justice, gender democracy, inclusion, ecology and sustainability, participation, and democracy.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training, partner visits, and other work-related purposes within Southeast Asia and to other locations as required.
