In December 2009, the second international performance art festival “ Beyond Pressure ” was held in Myanmar/Burma, with the support of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung. Artists from Burma, Thailand, the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, South Korea, India, and China presented their performance art pieces in the Sein Lan So Pya Garden, a popular leisure destination in Yangon. The international guests were highly impressed by the young Burmese artists, by their enthusiasm for new art forms, and by their creative ways of expression.
